How does the rotational molding machine operate?

1. Split type rotational molding machine, also known as fixed arm rotational molding machine, has a rotational molding product arm located in a fixed position in the drying oven. After the rotational molding frame with main and auxiliary shafts is manually or mechanically fed into the drying box, the rotational molding product arm locks the main shaft bearing of the sound card frame and drives the mold shell of the sound card frame to rotate in each vertical direction along the main and auxiliary shafts according to the predetermined regulations, and additionally provides heating. After heating is completed, the main shaft bearing of the sound card frame is loosened from the fixed arm in the drying box, and the sound card frame is dragged out of the drying box and sent to the refrigeration room for cooling to the necessary temperature.

The sound card rack can be heated and cooled according to the roller or small car. During the entire process of moving the sound card rack, the mold can still rotate continuously along the main and auxiliary vertical directions. Refrigeration is also carried out under rotation. At this time, the rotation is achieved by using the fixed and stationary rotational molding product arm set in the refrigeration system or by moving the rotational molding product arm on the small car.

2. The key feature of a fully automatic rotational molding machine is that the rotational molding frame is automatically moved from the feeding and demolding processes to the heating and cooling processes using the spindle bearings. There are several types of fully automatic rotational molding machines, including double arm, arm, and multi arm.

Double arm rotational molding machine

It only has one arm, which is a spindle bearing, and has two types: swing type and parallel line reciprocating. Their mutual characteristics are that they are both set with at least two processes, namely heating process and feeding, demolding, and cooling process, and there is also equipment that separates feeding, demolding, and cooling processes and sets up three processes. The advantages of the dual arm rotational molding machine are simple construction, high quality and low cost, but the heating and drying box cannot be flexibly used, resulting in low productivity. This type of machine equipment is more beneficial for the production and manufacturing of test specimens, trial production, and small batch production products.

Arm type rotational molding machine

It has arms and two main shaft bearings, each of which is equipped with a secondary shaft. Generally, this type of rotational molding machine is equipped with a drying box and two refrigeration chambers, and the drying box is used for dual arm spinning. The key advantage of the arm type rotational molding machine is that the drying oven can be flexibly used, and there are only 2 arms, which requires less mold size compared to the multi arm rotational molding machine.

Multi arm rotational molding machine

It has three or more arms, with the number of arms generally corresponding to the ten digit number set, and each arm is equipped with a secondary shaft. A three arm rotational molding machine generally has three processes: feeding and discharging, heating, and cooling, while a four arm rotational molding machine generally has feeding and discharging, and heating.
